Afşin-Elbistan Thermal Power Plant tenders

Investors rush in on building a power plant in Afşin-Elbistan

Electricity Production Joint Stock Co.(EÜAŞ has invited tenders for Afşin-Elbistan C and D thermal power plants. The power plants have received enormous interest from investors around the country.

It was learned that 19 companies have taken specifications for plant C and 15 for plant D. Tenders will be held on January 23, 2007.

It was stated that EÜAŞ authorities are pleased with this interest, especially after receiving foreign investors' interest. Companies which have taken specifications include big holdings such as Koç, Sabancı, Ciner and Alarko.

The construction of the power plants will cost 5 billion dollars and will take five years. The power plants will employ 8,500 people.
